Codefest 2017 What Do I Need to Know?

Codefest 2017 is less than a week away and we’re looking at our largest participation yet.  Thank you to everyone who has registered and we look forward to meeting you all this weekend.

If you have not already done so, please register for Codefest on Devpost, as going forward announcements regarding Codefest will come directly from Devpost.  If you are not familiar with Devpost you can read about it under Important Information on the Philly Codefest homepage.

Doors will open for registration beginning at 8:30am on Saturday morning.  Between 8:30-10:00am, the only doors that will be open will be located next to Joe Coffee on Chestnut Street.  If you are arriving before 10am, please use those doors.  To help make registration run smoothly, please have your Eventbrite confirmation (either paper or email) available for us to scan.  You will then be provided a Codefest wristband (giving you access to the event space), nametag and lanyard.  Breakfast will be provided upon check-in.

For those of you who are still looking for a team, we will providing team building sessions at 9:00am and 11:00am.  Please let a Codefest staff member know that you are in need of a team and we will get you to the team building session.   Several of our Codefest mentors will run the workshop and will be available throughout the day to assist you with any questions that you might have.

Codefest is proud to announce that Ms. Kisha Hortman Hawthorne, Sr. Vice President & Chief Information Officer at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will give our keynote talk during Codefest Opening Ceremonies.  Following Ms. Hawthorne, our sponsors will introduce themselves and we’ll go over Codefest rules.  Please make sure to read and respect the Codefest Code of Conduct, which you can view here.   A full version of the Codefest Agenda can be found here.

This year, we are happy to announce over $14,000 in cash and prizes available to all teams!  Teams will need to formally register their product idea and team members at 1pm on Saturday.  At that time you will also choose which prizes you would like to compete for.  Our dual grand prizes this year are the Philly Codefest 2017 Student Award, open to 100% student teams, and the Philly Codefest 2017 Collaborative Award, open to teams with a mix of students and professionals.  A full listing of challenges and prizes can be found on Devpost.
